KITLV, Room 138 Reuvensplaats 2, LeidenJ.B. van Heutsz (1851-1924) gained national fame as the man who brought peace to Aceh. In 1904 he was widely celebrated as a hero and appointed as governor-general of the Netherlands-Indies.
