Location KITLV Building

 

It takes about 10 minutes to walk to the KITLV from Leiden Central Station
On arrival at Leiden Central Station exit on the side marked “Centrum” Cross over Stationsplein and walk along “Stationsweg” (taking the right-hand side). After some 100 metres (after crossing the bridge by the Museum for Ethnology) this becomes the “Steenstraat”. Walk its entire length (do not cross the large bridge to the left), but continue right to the water and turn right into the “Korte Galgewater”. Walk its entire length. In front of you”, you will see “Molen de Put”. At this point, turn left over the bridge and walk right through to “Noordeinde”. Cross over, turn right for a few metres until you reach “Rembrandtstraat” on your left-hand side. Walk its entire length and in front of you, you will see the KITLV building. Walk around the building and go through the gate on your right-hand side.

 

How to get to the KITLV from Leiden Central Station by public transport
Take bus 1 (direction Leiderdorp) from Leiden Central Station, alight at the “Paterstraat” stop and cross over the street at the zebra crossing, continue over the bridge, on your left-hand side you will see the KITLV building.
Or take bus 5 or 6 (direction Voorschoten) from Leiden Central Station, alight at “Noordeinde”, stop then cross the road and turn left to the first street to the right (Rembrandtstraat), walk its entire length, which brings you to the KITLV building.
