12 Feb NRC Handelsblad and Radio 1: Massacre in Rengat, 1949

On 5 January 1949, the Sumatran city of Rengat was occupied by Dutch paratroopers, at the cost of large numbers of civilian casualties. NRC Handelsblad published a report on this massacre written by KITLV fellow Anne-Lot Hoek, who also wrote the blog The Peristiwa of Rengat on the same affair. On Sunday 14 February, the KRO radio program Reporter (Radio 1) dedicated a broadcast to this same event, with participation by Bart Luttikhuis (KITLV).
