Hoogenboom, MA. Ireen

Ireen Hoogenboom is project manager at the KITLV-NIOD-NIMH programme Independence, decolonisation, violence and war in Indonesia, 1945-1950. For the subprojects Regional Studies and Violence, Bersiap Berdaulat, she coordinates the joint research with Indonesian historians. For these projects the KITLV research group, together with Indonesian colleagues, will do research in several Indonesian regions. These subprojects will be the continuation of the KITLV-project Dutch military operations in Indonesia 1945-1950 that has run since 2012.

Hoogenboom studied Cultural Anthropology at the University of Amsterdam and Languages and Cultures of Southeast Asia and Oceania in Leiden. Before she worked as a project manager for Asian Studies in Amsterdam (ASiA, IIAS) and the master Contemporary Asian Studies (UvA) and as an editor for the KITLV Press and Journal of the Humanities and Social Sciences of Southeast Asia and Oceania.
