‘Framing Asia’ is a monthly film screening and discussion on Asia during the Leiden Asia Year. We are very pleased to invite you to the second edition of our film screening series ‘Framing Asia’. You are welcome to join us on Tuesday, March 14 at 19.30 h at Lipsius 003 where we will dive into ‘Disaster and the failing state’.
We will screen the films Fighting for nothing to happen by Nora Wildenauer and Nation by Ali Nobil Ahmad. Afterwards, Nora Wildenauer will participate in our discussion with Ward Berenschot and Kasia Mika, both postdoc researchers at KITLV. Ward Berenschot is researching local democracy, clientelism and identity politics in India and Indonesia. Kasia Mika is currently working on postcolonial disaster studies and environmental humanities.
