Island(er)s at the helm second online stakeholders meeting 23 March 2022

The Island(er)s at the Helm team and stakeholders participated in the second online project meeting on Wednesday 23 March 2022.

Dr. Antonio Carmona Baez gave a short introduction and presented the new team members. Aga Kuś, Dr. Daphina Misiedjan, Ph.D., Dr. Charissa Granger, Dr. Jaime R. Pagán Jiménez (Ph.D.), and Dr. Kees Nooren introduced themselves and their research plans in short presentations. The project also welcomed its newest member, Dr. Gregory Richardson.

Sharelly Emanuelson, Harold Kelly, and Lysanne Charles each gave an update on their research progress. The session also included questions and a group discussion. The discussions were inspirational and have provided ample material to rethink and to move forward in the research. The next online project meeting is planned for September 2022. Moving forward, these online meetings will be geared towards providing more general updates to our societal partners and inviting open discussions based on the project’s recent developments. In the coming months we will continue to identify and reach out to potential Island(er)s at the Helm stakeholders  – with whom the project and specific work packages will co-create the research and its social applicability.

The project is also organizing a physical Public & Societal Partner Meeting at the University of Sint Maarten on Wednesday 18 May 2022. A Save The Date and program for this event will be shared in the coming weeks. If you are in the area, please feel welcome to join!

Finally, if you would like to stay up to date on all Island(er)s at the Helm developments, please follow the project FacebookTwitter, and LinkedIn pages.
