Launch of the book ‘Agriculture Beyond Food’ in Indonesia

On 27 November the book ‘Agriculture beyond food: Experiences from Indonesia’ was launched in Jakarta as a result of the NWO-KNAW research programme ‘Agriculture beyond food’. ‘Agriculture beyond food’ is a multidisciplinary programme set up to contribute to an informed debate about the future of agriculture in a bio-based economy with a focus on Indonesia. ‘Agriculture beyond food’ is divided into three clusters: the introduction of Jatropha as an alternative biofuel, mobile technologies for biodiesel production, and the effects of an increasing production of palm oil.

KITLV participated in one of the three integrated research projects ‘JARAK: the commodization of an alternative biofuel crop in Indonesia (Jatropha)’.
