Ferreira, Dr. Eva de Melo
Eva de Melo Ferreira holds a PhD in Sanitation, Environment and Water Resources (Federal University of Minas Gerais, Brazil, 2019), she is a Master of Science in Agronomy (Federal University of Goiás, Brazil, 2015), and has an MBA in Project Management (University of São Paulo, Brazil, 2024). Furthermore, she has a specialization in Treatment and Final Disposal of Solid and Liquid Waste (Federal University of Goiás, Brazil, 2015), and another specialization in Environmental Planning and Management (Federal University of Goiás, Brazil, 2014). She has a bachelor degree in Environmental Sanitation (Federal Institute of Goiás, Brazil, 2012).
Eva is the author of several papers published in scientific journals and international conferences in the area of Environmental Sciences and Soil Quality. Her main topics of interest are: water management, environmental public policies, waste management, soil quality and environmental monitoring.
At KITLV Eva will work for the research program ‘Island(er)s at the Helm: Co-creating research on sustainable and inclusive solutions for social adaptation to climate challenges in the (Dutch) Caribbean‘. Working as a researcher alongside Islands at the Helm, she will collaborate on strategies for social engagement and environmental protection in the Dutch Caribbean islands. In addition, better conditions for water supply and sustainable food production will be the focus.
