Rosemarijn Hoefte appointed as Professor in the History of Suriname

Rosemarijn Hoefte has been appointed at the University of Amsterdam as Professor in the History of Suriname since 1873 in comparative perspective. This appointment will be for 0,2 fte.

Her most recent monograph is Suriname in the Long Twentieth Century. Domination Contestation, Globalization (New York, 2014). With Matthew L. Bishop and Peter Clegg she edited Post-Colonial Trajectories in the Caribbean. The Three Guianas (London, 2017). She is the managing editor of New West Indian Guide.
