English: We are looking for participants for a study on what motivates individuals to protect the cultural heritage, and / or the natural environment on the BES islands. This research is part of the ‘Confronting Caribbean Challenges: Hybrid Identities and Governance in Small-scale Island Jurisdictions’ project of the Royal Netherlands Institute of Southeast Asian and Caribbean Studies (KITLV).
Filling out the questionnaire will take about 20 to 30 minutes, and can be completed in both Dutch and English. Of course, all information is confidential and your anonymity is fully guaranteed.
We are looking for people who:
• have actively protected the cultural heritage, and/or the natural environment of the Dutch Caribbean;
• are NOT currently living on one of the Dutch Caribbean islands (especially, Bonaire, St Eutstatius and Saba).
If you meet these criteria, we hope you will join our study! Your knowledge and expertise in this area can make a very valuable contribution to the development of scientific knowledge about what motivates people to protect cultural heritage and nature.
There are two questionnaires and you can choose which one is relevant to you. If you are involved in both the protection of cultural heritage as well of nature, you can also choose to complete both questionnaires.

Nederlands: Wij zijn op zoek naar deelnemers aan een onderzoek naar de motivatie van personen die het cultureel erfgoed en/of de natuurlijke omgeving op de BES-eilanden beschermen. Dit onderzoek maakt deel uit van het project ‘Confronting Caribbean Challenges: Hybrid Identities and Governance in Small-scale Island Jurisdictions’ van het Koninklijk Instituut Taal, Land en Volkenkunde (KITLV).
Het invullen van de online vragenlijst zal maximaal 15 minuten tijd in beslag nemen en kan zowel in het Nederlands als het Engels worden ingevuld. Uiteraard worden alle gegevens vertrouwelijk behandeld en is uw anonimiteit volledig gegarandeerd.
Wij zijn op zoek naar personen:
• die zich actief inzetten of hebben gezet voor het beschermen van het cultureel erfgoed en/of de natuurlijke omgeving van de Nederlandse Cariben;
• die momenteel NIET woonachtig zijn op een van de Nederlands Caribische eilanden.
Voldoet u aan deze voorwaarden? Dan hopen we dat u mee wilt doen! Uw kennis en expertise op dit gebied kunnen een zeer waardevolle bijdrage leveren aan de ontwikkeling van de wetenschappelijke kennis over de motivatie van mensen om cultureel erfgoed en de natuur te beschermen.
Er zijn twee vragenlijsten en u kunt zelf kiezen welke voor u relevant is. Als u zowel betrokken bent bij het beschermen van cultureel erfgoed als de natuur dan kunt u er ook voor kiezen om beide vragenlijsten in te vullen.
