Britt, Daniella MA

Daniella Britt is the communication coordinator for the KITLV program ‘Island(er)s at the Helm: Co-creating research on sustainable and inclusive solutions for social adaptation to climate challenges in the (Dutch) Caribbean‘. In this role she will be keeping track of all activities and developments related to the program and communicating these to the general public. Additionally, she will be supporting the team with the Transatlantic Academic Platform events taking place in the Caribbean.

Daniella studied International Studies (BA) at Leiden University and Political Theory (MA) at the University of Amsterdam. She was born and raised in Aruba and spent some time between her BA and MA degrees working in the culture and heritage sector on the island, such as at the National Archives of Aruba. Next to the KITLV she is also a heritage advisor for the Mondriaan Fonds and has previously worked at the University of Amsterdam. Her previous work and research reflect an interest in political and social resistance in the histories of the ABC islands.
