Farewell Symposium Dr. Thomas Lindblad

On Wednesday 17 December a Farewell Symposium will be organized for Thomas Lindblad, who is going to retire. Dr. Thomas Lindblad is senior lecturer at Leiden University with expertise in the economic history of Indonesia and member of the Board of the Learned Society of KITLV:  http://www.hum.leiden.edu/history/staff/lindblad.html

The Farewell Symposium will take place from 15.00 – 17.00 h in the Snouck Hurgronjehuis, Rapenburg 61, in Leiden. Afterwards there will be a reception at the Huizinga Building, Doelensteeg 16, Leiden.

Among the speakers at this event are Prof.Dr.Em. Leonard Blussé van Oud Alblas, Prof.Dr. Bambang Purwanto, Prof.Dr. David Henley and Dr. Freek Colombijn. They will, among other things, address the significance of Thomas Lindblad’s research and his long academic career for the Economic History of Indonesia.

We cordially invite everyone who knows Thomas, or who has collaborated with him, or who has been supervised by him in a MA of PhD thesis, or who has been in the Board of the Learned Society of KITLV with him, to attend this event!

This symposium is organized by the Leiden University Institute for History and the Leiden University Institute for Area Studies. Registration is not required.
