Background topic Master Class
All researchers working in an academic environment should publish scientific articles, and preferably in an international journal. What are the requirements and how can we write such articles? What does it mean to write articles of good academic quality, and how can we improve the appeal of our work to an international audience? In this one-day master class we will discuss how we to prepare articles for publication in international journals, while drawing examples particularly from research in the field of governance. The organisers will facilitate the discussions and share their experiences as international authors and reviewers for international journals.
Contents Master Class and goal
This masterclass aims to support participants turning their idea into an article suitable for publication in an international, peer-reviewed journal. To this end, the masterclass will discuss the main challenges involved when writing such articles, such as the engaging with academic debates, developing the article’s main argument, presenting and structuring the material and dealing with the review processes of journals. The master class will do so through a mix of lectures, assignments and interactive discussions.
