Arginia Lucio (1979, Curaçao) is an accomplished educator and school leader based in Willemstad. With a Master in Special Education Needs and extensive qualifications in child-centered approaches, she has dedicated her career to advancing inclusive education.
Over the years, Arginia has held leadership roles including Director of Skol Myrna Dovale and Director of Blenchi School, alongside various teaching and coaching positions. In addition, she has taught a variety of subjects and held coordinating responsibilities at the University of Curaçao’s General Faculty, further enriching her educational expertise. Fluent in Papiamentu, Dutch, English, and Spanish, she brings strong communication, analytical, and team-building skills to every challenge in the educational landscape.
For the Island(er)s at the Helm project she will evaluate existing educational strategies in relation to addressing climate challenges in Curaçao. Additionally, she focuses on developing a tailored method that prioritizes the cognitive and emotional characteristics of neurodivergent students in relation to the topic. As a result, she examines how urgent topics, such as water usage and/or climate change, can be effectively integrated into the curriculum.
