A special issue on social media in Indonesia in the journal Indonesia, co-edited by KITLV researcher David Kloos, Merlyna Lim (Carleton University) and Johan Lindquist (Stockholm University).

Introduction

This publication results from a workshop at the KITLV, in October 2023, which was convened by Ward Berenschot, Johan Lindquist, and David Kloos, and generously supported, apart from the KITLV, by Stockholm University and Aarhus University (through Nils Bubandt).

The special issue, which examines the co-constitutive relationship between social media and contemporary Indonesian society, contains contributions by Ross Tapsell, Merlyna Lim, Yatun Sastrawidjaja, Aqida Nurul Salma, Wijayanto, Ward Berenschot and Fiona Suwana, Nor Ismah, Emily Hertzman, and Martin Slama, as well as an introduction (open access).
