Paul Sein Twa, Director of the Karen Environmental and Social Action Network (KESAN), the lead partner for the TRACE project on the Thai-Myanmar border, in June 3, visited KITLV office.

Hosted by TRACE Principal Investigator Diana Suhardiman, the visit provided a valuable opportunity for face-to-face collaboration with the TRACE Leiden team.

Beyond strategic project discussions, the visit featured a trip to the Leiden University Libraries' Special Collections to explore historical archives related to Karen communities. The meetings also facilitated a rich exchange of ideas on community-driven movements, resource mobilization, and participatory mapping, a methodology where KESAN has demonstrated advanced expertise and regional leadership.
