In the past 2 years, KITLV has run a pilot-project on the coloniality of Asian library and manuscript-formations. In this session, the public will be able to see and engage with a selection of objects from the collection the team researched, and with the stories these objects can tell, as discovered by our researchers.

The PhD candidates at KITLV want to showcase their work in ways that are accesible to all. They do so individually and collectively in a variety of creative and reflective ways.

There will be video art, spoken word, visual and audible surprises, a quiz, poems and a collective dance performance.

In deze sessie vertellen enkele subsidieontvangers uit het Dr. Silvia de Groot fonds en het Philippus Corts fonds over hun projecten en gaan we het gesprek aan over het belang van specifieke fondsen voor bepaalde groepen of we slagen om die groepen te bereiken en hoe we dat mogelijk kunnen verbeteren.

In deze sessie vertellen enkele subsidieontvangers over hun projecten die werden gesteund vanuit het Activeitenfonds, het Publicatiefonds, het Silvia de Groot fonds en het Philippus Corts fonds. We gaan het gesprek aan over welke onderwerpen, thema's en groepen ondersteund zouden moeten worden, of we daarin slagen en hoe we dat mogelijk kunnen verbeteren.

In deze sessie kijken we terug  naar hoe de studie naar het slavernijverleden zich heeft ontwikkeld in de laatste kwart eeuw, en de rol van het KITLV hierin, en kijken we vooruit naar wat we in de nabije toekomst kunnen verwachten.

Recording the Future (RtF) is a long-term documentation project of KITLV in collaboration with PRMB-BRIN (Pusat Riset Masyarakat dan Budaya Badan Riset dan Inovasi Nasional) that has been running since 2003. 

The two scholarly journals of the KITLV, Journal of the Humanities and Social Sciences of Southeast Asia / Bijdragen tot de Taal-, Land- en Volkenkunde (BKI) and New West Indian Guide (NWIG), have a long history. In this session we reflect on past, present and future.
